Resident Evil Revelations 2 PSVITA Review

First of all, I've played Resident Evil Revelations for the 3ds both for the normal 3ds and the 3ds XL and yes I've enjoyed both. (Main difference is that is good on the XL) I finished Revalations for 3ds in 1 sitting. That's how excited I am for every episode. Took me a week to finish Revelations 2. It's just that, I'm not as hooked as I was with the first 1. Or let's just say it's the worst vita port of any game out there. It was garbage compared to the 3ds version. Yeah yeah Part 1 was made for 3ds before but somehow the guys from FRIMA (The developer studio that developed the vita port) did not bring justice to this port and hell just released a port just so our beloved vita will have a Resident Evil.  

R3 version was delayed for almost a month I guess and I was so excited when I got my physical Copy. I noticed first thing when I got to the game, the frame rate does drop a lot.Then I played the first chapter while downloading the big update game just so I can check the frame rate if it improved or not. First run without updates, I got dizzy ... really dizzy... I've played lots of vita ports before but the frame rate for this one will make you puke. After the update it does improve a little but still you'll get dizzy playing this one. I finished uncharted golden abyss before playing this one and sure  this will make me rant a lot for this review. That game though does not run on 60fps is still miles away from the frame rate of Resident Evil Revelations 2. The game visual is garbage. The visuals was toned down to the level of PS2 even lower than ps2.

Next is the sound. When Capcom first said they're not going to port Resident Evil Revelations 1 to vita because of sound quality issues of vita not having dolby digital, believe the reason guys for Revelations 2 having no dolby digital sounds the developers have compressed the music to levels of tunog lata mp3's. Shotguns sounds like laser cannons???? Really crappy sound quality. 

Loading times are both hell for Campaign and Raid mode. Its the worst loading time for any vita game. Timed it for 2 mins per game on online raid mode. 2 mins of loading  time????  Then you play raid mode in less than 5 mins????? Oh boy..  1 min loading time for camapaign.

The Story, well if you've played Revelations 1. The formula that makes that game exciting us still there but if you've played the first one it feels like that they'd just copied the whole concept. It makes the story predictable. The plot is the worst for any Resident Evil. The new Characters Moira and Natalia out of the two I would like Moira to be kicked out entirely off the series. She just cursed and cursed the whole game. Saying the F word almost everytime is annoying. 

Treasure opening mini game is annoying and will test your patience. You'll be opening a lot of this boxes.   

No major spoiler here. But on the ending credits. I was surprised that Sony Computer Entertainment America was the first text that slide upward on the credits roll. Like... wtf???? You guys should be on the bottom for releasing this crappy port. No thanks to you guys!!!! Credits should go to the Japanese dev team that created the game.

Let's go to the positives. The game is still scary for me. Revelations series is one the scariest for any Resident Evil. Its scary yea.. :( good thing the game lets you control 2 characters. I'll not be playing this if I only have one. Lol it's damn scary. The idea of having you to control 2 characters is cool and makes gameplay unique. What you do on the first chapter will have effect on the surroundings of the character for next chapter. Meaning there are different approach to cover so you'll be repeating the game  a lot if you want to uncover everything. There are lots of things to unlock and there is raid mode. Skill settings also add up to the life span of the game as it not just aid you character but also there are tons of skills to unlock and upgrade. You can also upgrade weapon and lots of stuff laying around for you to find and upgrade your weapons with. Lastly there's raid mode with online and adhoc modes. If you can withstand the loading times then you'll probably enjoy raid mode. 

The Cut scenes  are all HD though. Crisp and scaled for vita. thumbs up for that.

My verdict. Don't buy this Resident Evil Revelations 2 port. Spend that money elsewhere unless you're a diehard fan and can't afford the console version. There are a lot of cons that will make you curse this game like what Moira does throughout the game. Stay away.

• Still is scary 
• I still enjoyed the game having able to switch character is a sweet 
• High Replay value if you can withstand the frame rate issue

REVIEW: God Eater 2: Rage Burst PSVITA SLIM accessory pack

Its been quite sometime since I posted something on this blog. Our Facebook page is still alive and I haven't had much time to review stuff last year.

Anyway, here's one of the new MUST have's for your Vita. Since God Eater 2: Rage Burst just got released earlier this month. BANDAI NAMCO also released a special edition God Eater 2: Rage Burst accessory pack for the PSVITA slim and it is s pure awesomeness.


The packaging looks cool and ain't not cheap. For P1,199(ITECH Branches), The accessory pack contains:

1. God Eater 2: Rage Burst Pouch
2. Hard case with Vita face protector
3. A cute mascot keychain that you can use to wipe your kulangots out of your vita.

Definitely the accessory price is NOT cheap well you get what you paid for as this accessories were made by none other than HORI which creates official PSVITA accessories and of course they are made of high quality materials.

Questions:
1. Is it good? yep!
2. Is the grip good with the hard case on. Definitely yes.
3. Is the key chain good? nope..

Overall:

9/10

and a must have if you dont have any accessories yet. It will make your vita standout and protected as well.

PPSV NOOB GUIDE: PSVITA 1000 vs PSVITA 2000

For those who're confused on what to buy. Here's some links that will help you which type of PS VITA to buy.

The new PSVITA is not yet available worldwide(just asian countries I believe). It should be much more cheaper than the 1000 model, has more battery life, battery replaceable, much more compact and light, bigger select and start buttons, variety of colors to choose from and much more cool to look at I guess, A 1 GB memory for game saves so you wont waste money for that 4gb MMC, a micro USB port so you'll be able to use any droid chargers to charge your vita, and lastly that controversial LCD Screen.

The OLD PSVITA on the other hand has the OLED screen and THATS the only field I can recommend the OLD one which, I guarantee you guys, wont lessen the experience you have with PSVITA. You wont notice the LCD screen of PSVITA 2000 unless you have two Vita's and put it side by side.

You may want to wait for the price drop for PSV 2000 maybe this December or January before you purchase if you want it a thousand more cheaper OR settle for the old one if your on a tight budget. I would always recommend the Newer models as more accessories will be made for the new model in the future. :)

RAGNAROK ODYSSEY ACE: 10 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD BUY THIS SHITTY GAME!(AGAIN!)

11.       ACE SYSTEM – It’s the newest update that made this game much more enjoyable. Ace system puts your skills to a specific shortcut button(combination of keys or touch) rather than performing a combo before on Ragnarok Odyssey.

22.       A Bestiary or Ingame Encyclopedia – All hunting games should have one to check where to gather Materials! The in game Enclopedia or Mercenary Book as what they call it contains weapon data, monster data, npc data, and so on. It’s a really large list IMO.

33.       Halomonas Weapons – Weapons that can be customized, you can choose what the weapon skill will be and also the stat which ofcourse can only be done if you’ve performed specific quest.

44.        A Quest Statistics Page – Now you can brag how many times you’ve performed a Grendel Quest just to get that fcking Gold Traitor. The game now has Quest Statistics, it contatins how many times you took the quest, what Job or character you used, how many times for that job, your best time and so on damn it’s as detailed as the reports my boss wants generated. -_-

55.       More Avatars – Lots of new avatars to customize your Character.

66.       More Weapons – Lots of weapons with different attribute separate from the Halomonas weapons I’ve mentioned. Gold Sun Sword anyone?

77.       New Maps and Monsters – There are new maps and monsters to hunt! :3

88.       A Random Generated Dungeon – The Ygdrassil Tower is a random generated tower meaning it generates different monsters and place everytime you visit it. Contains tons of epic weapons.

PSVITA : INDIE ALERT!! We’re not happy!(but we should be! :D)

We saw lots of Indies back at GAMESCOM and a lot of fans are darn disappointed, but we shouldn't. Pinoy PSVITA fanboys stayed late just to watch Sony’s Gamescom presentation we were all waiting for the big games but sadly only few were announced( Borderlands and Minecraft). I wasn’t really paying attention with the Indie games that were presented and it was a way damn long Indie presentation but when tech sites reported there are tons of Indies coming to PS4 and PS Vita I got curious and checked the games. This games are not “SMART PHONE QUALITY” Indie games but games that take advantage of the PS4 and PSVita system or should I say “CONSOLE QUALITY” games. Played some Indies on my PSVita before (Guacamelee and Stardust Delta are good games) and I must say those games are of quality compared to smartphone games. I hope we’ll see more of this quality indie games at smart-phone-prices when they hit this Holiday season.

Sentiments: Warranty or WALA-nty

We usually see this note from Gadget shops at malls "6 months service warranty" or even "1 year service warranty" or even juicier "lifetime service warranty" but does it really give us assurance that our babies(gadgets) are safe having those warranty given to us by our trusted mall sellers? Yes and most probably a NO.

This applies to all gadgets I think, when I drop my PSvita which has a service warranty from my favorite store will they fix it? Ofcourse they will! But! Full efforts only, you still have to buy the parts! Worst you pay almost half the price of the device for the parts! So those service warranties when applied to gadgets are damn useless!!!  

This service warranties are more in favor for appliances,laptops or pc's but for new gadgets (tablet, vita, 3ds, smartphones etc) dont be happy you have this so called warranty! For it always assures you that you'll pay bigtime if suddenly you did something wrong with your device. 

Thinking of buying a 2nd hand PSVita or 3ds and will charge you much higher than other 2nd hands because it has service warranty? No way! There are no service centers for these handhelds! Best efforts will be done to your devices and you will still be shouldering the parts that will be used to repair your vita or 3ds! 

Warranty or Wala-nty? :) 

3 new vita games to be localized by 2014

Looks like were going to see more Vita game's localized next year. Accoding to gematsu , Sorcery Saga, Dangan Ronpa Trigger Happy, and Demon Gaze.

More vita love for us! wee!

Sorcery Saga and Demon Gaze looks like our typical dungeon crawler RPG while DanganRonpa is a visual novel type of game.

Seems there are lots of games being announced for vita games lately we hope they'd announced TYPE 0 or Tales of Hearts localization too..
